2010 Soccer World Cup

This year South African schools come to a grinding halt for 5 weeks for the June/July holidays made longer than normal to accommodate our country hosting the FIFA world cup soccer 2010. How will this impact us as homeschoolers? In our homes, not much as we will not be taking the same holidays as the schools, but it does give us more time to do informal studies around the countries participating in the world cup as well as taking time for other subjects like art and music appreciation and nature study that get a little ignored during term time. For soccer lovers this is the perfect time to launch your family into a delight directed unit study on soccer.
